Tualatin Dental Care Dentists
Dr. Pari Samani, D.M.D.

Dr. Samani was born and raised in Iran. She completed her undergraduate work at Oregon State University, and graduated among the top of her class. She moved to Portland shortly after, where she graduated from OHSU School of Dentistry in 1994.
After working for a large group practice, Dr. Samani partnered with Dr. Fred Fischer and opened Tualatin Dental Care in 2000. Tualatin Dental Care is a private practice that utilizes state of the art techniques and equipment. “I was thrilled to have an office where I could take care of my patients with the best preventative care available.”
Dr. Samani’s work doesn’t end in the office, she keeps up to date with the evolving dental industry by continuing education courses. It is important to her to provide the best care possible for her patients. Patient comfort, anesthesia, root canal therapy and periodontics are just some of the emphasis in her classes. “I pride myself in our well-trained staff to take care of each patient with exceptional regard.”
Dr. Samani is a member of the American Dental Association, The Oregon Dental Association and the Washington County Dental Society. She is grateful that she can donate her time and services to organizations such as Dental Access and Donated Dental Services for the underprivileged.
Outside of the office Dr. Samani enjoys spending time with her family. “I have been blessed with an amazing family and great friends.” Dr. Samani is married with two grown children, a daughter and a son. In her free time she enjoys working out, meditating and skiing. Dr. Samani recently welcomed the newest addition to her family, her kitten Tala.
Dr. Samani is delighted to work with patients of all ages and strives to make each visit as comfortable as possible. “We love to share a good laugh in our office, who said the Dentist Office can’t be fun!”
Dr. Fred Fischer, D.M.D.

Dr. Fred Fischer grew up in Michigan. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force upon graduation from high school and was assigned to Adair Air Force Station in Corvallis. “I was very impressed with Oregon. The lush vegetation reminded me of the forests in Michigan, only on a much larger scale and without the harsh winters!” After his tour of duty in the Air Force, Dr. Fischer decided to make Oregon his home. He did his undergraduate work at Portland State University and graduated from OHSU School of Dentistry in 1976.
Dr. Fischer utilizes the up to date technology and techniques offering comfortable, high quality care to all of our patients. “I believe everyone should be given the opportunity for optimal dental health. From healthy gums and bone to solid, high quality dental restorations, we strive to give you the smile you desire and the ability to chew any food you like.”
Dr. Fischer is a member of the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association and Washington County Dental Society. “I also enjoy continuing education and participate in many clinical courses in order to keep abreast of changes in materials and techniques. Much has changed since I graduated and it’s really been fun to continue learning over the years.” By the way, Tualatin Dental Care does not flit from one new product or technique to another. Before we make a change we want to see a clinical track record of at least 5 years, especially for new materials.
Dr. Fischer is married to Dr. Lynn Yu and they have twin children that were born in April of 2010. Lynn is also a dentist and she is working part time. Dr. Fischer’s free time these days is primarily occupied taking care of Alana and Keith, which are quite a handful.
Dr. Fischer welcomes you to our practice as a patient and friend. He prides himself on providing high quality care in accordance with each individual’s needs and desires. He makes every effort to treat each person as he would a member of his own family.
Administrative Staff
Cheryl Ivy, Financial and Insurance Coordinator
I was born and raised in Southern California and I am a Hippie Chick. I moved to Oregon with my father and two daughters in 1989 and love it.
I have worked in the dental field for more than 30 years and have been part of Tualatin Dental Care since 2007. We have a great team led by Dr. Fischer and Dr. Samani.
When not working I enjoy spending time with my wonderful daughters, who are both married to great men. They have given me five awesome grandchildren. They are truly the light of my life. I also enjoy running and walking, knitting, reading and exploring new places in the Portland area.
I belong to a run/walk women’s group and I do a half marathon called ‘Hippie Chick’ on Mother’s Day with my daughters every year. The only “child” I have at home is Shiloh, my Shar-pei mix dog. She is very demanding and extremely spoiled but I love her to pieces!
Clinical Staff – Hygenists
Colleen Whyte, RDH, Registered Dental Hygienist
I was born and raised in Idaho Falls, and grew up with 5 siblings. I now have 15 nieces and nephews – I love big family gatherings! I graduated from Idaho State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Dental Hygiene. ISU has one of the last four year Dental Hygiene programs in the United States. I have been practicing in the field now for 28 years.
Periodontal therapy is my area of expertise. I trained with Dr. George Merijohn in San Francisco for nine years. I worked in family practice and periodontal practices in Idaho Falls, Reno and San Francisco before moving to the Portland area in 2000. I have been lucky to work with Dr. Fischer and Dr. Samani for 6 years, beginning in spring of 2001until 2006, returning to the practice in August 2010. I specifically enjoy the personal contact and getting to know my patients in caring for them. This is what keeps me happy and working in my field.
I have a wonderful husband, Greg, with whom I just celebrated 23 years, and have two terrific teenage children, Cozette and Griffin, who attend Jesuit High School. Our daughter is a softball pitcher, and our son a long-pole defense lacrosse player. We have a charming 8 year old Havanese dog, Lily, who still acts like a puppy and loves everyone she meets.
I volunteer at the Providence Children’s Center for Medically Fragile Children and sing with my Resurrection church folk group. I love to bake, sew, scrapbook, and take long walks with friends in my spare time.
Leah Boitano, RDH, Registered Dental Hygienist
Eugene is my old home base, and of course, I am a die-hard University of Oregon Ducks fan because of it! I also enjoy watching the entertaining Trail Blazers. My family is still close by, and I enjoy seeing my parents and sister on a regular basis.
I attended Lane Community College and earned my Associates of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene ten years ago. I have worked with Dr. Fischer and Dr. Samani for seven years and my patients love coming here. I benefit from working as a hygienist for so many reasons, especially getting to know my patients well and helping them achieve optimum dental health. Working in a fun and expert environment is a plus!
I met and married my husband, Garrick, a few short years ago, and we honeymooned in Taveuni, the Garden Island of Fiji. It was a beautiful place to be. I have two daughters, one son, and one stepdaughter, and my life is full and entertaining! I enjoy scrapbooking, watching movies, spending time with my children, and reading during any free time I have.
Clinical Staff – Dental Assistants
Esperanza Figueroa, EFDA, Lead Dental Assistant
Hola! I am Esperanza or Espe, as so many of the patients know me. I had an adventurous childhood and lived in Illinois, Mexico and then moved to Oregon when I was nine. I graduated from Tigard High School.
I am the oldest of three, with one brother and one sister. Even though my parents moved back to Mexico last year, I still have siblings and aunts and uncles close by.
I have been a dental assistant for nine years, after graduating from Northwest Dental Institute. I have been working at Tualatin Dental Care for four years, and am the supervising Dental Assistant for the practice. Since my native language is Spanish, my office utilizes my bilingual education every day! I also speak French and can translate any of the three languages. Oh, my office is lucky to have me!
I am married to gorgeous Lorenzo, and have two children, Eric who is 12, and Natalia, 4 years old. This fall is going to be very exciting for my daughter because she will be starting Kindergarten. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking Mexican food and going camping with my family as well as watching horror movies.
Laura Evers, EFDA, Dental Assistant
I grew up in the Salem area and attended Sprague High School. I now live in the greater St. Paul area. My family is also still in the Salem area, and it is great fun to get together with my sister and parents on a regular basis. I attended Chemeketa Community College Dental Assisting program in 1991. I had started working in a dental office in 1990, and was lucky enough in 1998 to meet both Dr. Samani and Dr. Fischer, and I have been working with them ever since. I followed them over to their private practice here in Tualatin, and honestly, would not want to work for anyone else.
I am married to a wonderful man, and have two busy boys! Both of our sons have an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Researching and keeping on top of the ever-changing information for these disorders keeps my non-working days quite full. My husband, Greg, is a Master Carpenter, and I stay involved in his business, Evers interior Trim, Inc. CCB #808. As a family, we enjoy boating, camping, fishing, reading and I love to garden and cook. It is a busy and fulfilling life.
